Pathways, MI to provide fun parenting opportunity for parents of 10-14 year olds

Pathways, MI is excited to announce they will be providing the Strengthening Families Program in Muskegon starting on Thursday, June 16th. The program is a great opportunity for parents of 10-14 years to come, bring their youth and learn helpful communication skills that will make the teenage years smoother. The program will meet on 7 consecutive Thursdays, June 16th –July 28th. A family meal, along with childcare (ages 3-9), is provided free of charge.

The Strengthening Families Program is a National Program working to improve communication and build family strength during a natural time of transition for families. The program is fun, interactive and has helped many families work through tough times in their lives. Pathways, MI has been providing the Strengthening Families Program in Ottawa County for over 10 years and is excited to be able to bring this great opportunity to Muskegon County.

“The program is a lot of fun,” says Leigh Moerdyke, Community Youth Development Program Director at Pathways, MI, “the groups stay busy doing different activities that help build communication skills for parents and for the youth who attend. I’ve seen many families come together during the program and recognize the strength they have and build on that.”

Pathways, MI is currently taking referrals for the program, and to sign up contact Howard Matthews at hmatthews@pathwaysmi.org.
